Purpose and objectives

The aim of the academic journal “Ukrainian Musicology” is to comprehensively highlight current issues in musicology, art studies, and cultural studies, to foster the development and dissemination of scholarly thought in the field of musical art, and to promote the integration of Ukrainian musicological research into the European and global cultural and educational space.


Main Objectives of the Journal

  • to investigate the patterns and trends in the formation of the Ukrainian national cultural and artistic space;
  • to analyze the development of Ukrainian musical culture in both historical and contemporary dimensions;
  • to cover theoretical, historical, and practical aspects of musicology;
  • to explore interpretative approaches to musical creativity;
  • to examine issues and prospects of Ukrainian and foreign musical performance;
  • to promote interdisciplinary research in the field of musical art and cultural studies;
  • to provide a platform for publishing research findings of scholars, educators, and practitioners;
  • to support academic communication between Ukrainian and international researchers;
  • to promote Ukrainian musical culture within the international scholarly community;
  • to ensure open access to research outcomes and facilitate global knowledge exchange.
