Features of theatricality in the Concert № 2 for bayan and chamber orchestra by Anatoliy Gaydenko “From ancestral times…”

Concert for Bayan № 2 by A. Gaydenko has been described in the aspect of its theatrical beginning refraction which is one of the expressions of the attributive feature of the concert genre – the principle of acting. The literature program of the work related to the traditional Eastern Slavic celebration of Ivan Kupala (Midsummer Day) was investigated. Evidences of the differentiation of the thematic and personalized material were provided with the personalization of the participants of the acting and pictorial-figurative material to reflect the atmosphere of acting. The intonation sources of music thematism and peculiarities of its designing were thoroughly traced. The influence of theatricality on dramaturgic structure of the separate parts and the whole cycle were found. The ways of expression of the other features of the acting were analyzed including instrumental virtuosity, competition of the musicians as a factor defining special, festival atmosphere. The relevance of the Second Bayan Concert by A. Gaydenko according to the genre requirements was proved together with individual embodiment of its essential features.
